GWP Biogas – Felpéc - MWM Deutz Crankshaft replacement

Project Timeline

The Biogas Power Plant was out of order due to broken crankshaft. The main task was change the damaged crankshaft and fit new type of Torsional Vibration Damper at Customer site, Felpéc , Biogas PP.
Thanks to the project planning and the preparedness of our colleagues, replacement of the shaft and recommissioning of the genset has been completed within two weeks.

Project details and measurements

The task was all in PIE’s hand through the project: Investigation, mechanical and electrical dis-assembly, assembly until final running-in.

During the assembly process we paid close attention to all mechanical measurements like we always do, to avoid all surprises. Before first smoke we measured and adjusted the alignment of the generator and engine with our modern laser device. We also successfully went through all sensor- and safety tests.

„First smoke”

Engine hot tests were started with close attention from all sides (mechanical, electrical and automation).

Hot tests and running in were done without any unexpected failure, engine started and loaded according to our protocol. After a successful test run, we could give the Biogas Power Plant back for normal operation and could greet a new satisfied Customer.
